SLP Seminars are fast paced with powerful presentations and workshop sessions. The day moves very quickly with information and strategies provided throughout. We recommend you get a good night’s sleep and come prepared for the day with a clear, refreshed mind so we can fill it with strategies to transition into 2016 smoothly and successfully!

Our presenters will take you through the following:

Stephanie Crawford (Speech Therapy):

- Speech therapy – why is it so important for children with an ASD?
- Importance of motivators and reinforcement in driving positive behaviour change and overcoming anxiety
- Pragmatics and theory of mind explained and strategies provided to assist in these areas
- Strategies to help your child with social skills for school and home

Amanda Curtis (Disclosing Asperger’s)

- Environmental considerations for the classroom - setting up an autism friendly classroom
- What is a Positive Behaviour Support Plan and how is one put together and implemented?
- Disclosing Asperger's/ASD's so that children on the spectrum are understood, accepted and celebrated!

Additionally, there are two workshop sessions built into the day where further practical classroom strategies are provided and a chance for teachers to work on their own challenges in the classroom to come up with solutions.
